We’re Always Excited to Welcome New Visitors
Welcome to As One Community Church!
We are so glad you’ve found us! Whether you're visiting for the first time or considering making us your church home, we want you to know that you're warmly welcomed here. At As One, we believe in building a loving, supportive community where everyone can grow in their faith, share life together, and serve our neighbors.
Feel free to explore our site, learn more about our services, ministries, and events, and reach out if you have any questions. We’re excited to journey with you in Christ!
Our service begins at 12:15 pm on Sundays.
Our church is on 8421 Meadow Rd SW, Lakewood WA 98499, and parking is located behind the church.
If you have mobility restrictions or young children to carry, feel free to use one of the spots closest to the door. We like to keep them free for visitors and people who need assistance.
Please don't worry about what you'll wear to church,
For we truly believe people should come to God as they are. You don't need to dress up to get his approval--that comes through Jesus' sacrifice. Once you walk in the doors, you'll see that the congregation has all types of people in all kinds of dress. While a few people in the church wear ties, others like to remind them that Jesus never wore a tie. Shorts are as welcome as suits, and you'll see both.
When you walk in,
Find one of our greeters and introduce yourself. They're usually stationed at the doors, and they'll show you where everything is. They'll help you find the Sunday school rooms if you have kids. Our greeters can also point you to the restrooms, sanctuary and fellowship area. If you have any questions about the service itself, the greeters are able to provide helpful answers.
Be sure to hang around after the service and join us for snacks
You'll have a chance to meet our pastor and many other people in As One. We'd also love to get to know you so you're a familiar face the next time you come.
Who We Are
Vision: Diversity brought together As One in Christ.
Imagine a place where people of diverse races, backgrounds, ages, and cultures coming together as one under a unifying cause. What better cause is there than the cause of following Jesus Christ? And what or who else could bring all these different people together truly as one family living, loving and leading together to change the world other than Jesus Christ? Rather than diversity being the cause of division and isolation, we want to unite together and show the world that in Christ, anyone can be unconditionally accepted and belong to the same community.
Mission: Make Jesus attractive to the dissed (Disconnected, disenchanted, disillusioned, disinterested, etc)
We will accomplish this by allowing Jesus to be accurately presented in our worship, real in our relationships, and helpful in our service to the community. Jesus is without a doubt the most fascinating, revolutionary, practical, and selfless – in other words, attractive – figure in the history of the world , and yet many churches have made Him out to be boring, irrelevant and out of touch with reality. This is borne out of practicing religion that has no bearing on personal lives rather than participating in a vital relationship that permeates every facet of life. We want to create an environment where people will experience God (encountering true Jesus), learn to have authentic relationships with one another (making Jesus real), and will serve the community (making Jesus helpful).
Values:
Lives changed
Families restored
Communities formed
Culture changed
No matter what your Christian background is (or isn't), we hope you'll join us on Sunday. Here at As One, you'll find people of all sizes, stripes and colors, and we welcome everyone--including you. Our services start at 12:15 p.m. every Sunday.
"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works."
(Hebrews 10:24)
At As One, we have a simple hope: to see people come to know Jesus Christ and grow in their Christian faith. Our ministries come in all shapes and sizes. Please come and join us for worship.
